Multiple Updates released & Wix support withdrawn
Over the past 2 weeks we have been working hard on upgrades to the Multilingualizer. Below, you will see the improvements made.
Wix support withdrawn
Unfortunately, due to far too many issues occurring with Wix, we are withdrawing support for Wix and updating the product pages etc to explain this. It *is* still possible to use the Multilingualizer on Wix, but only really with the ‘language-specific pages’ approach, rather than the ‘on-page translation’ approach. Wix does some very daft things like embedding iframes into your page making it impossible to interact with that content – e.g. for the storefront modules, or shopify embeds etc.
Upgrades
Multilingualizer4.14.js
An attempt was made to add the ability for the Multilingualizer to handle cases where users accidentally insert an ellipses character followed by a single dot, instead of 4 dots. This failed on many sites we tested on however, so this upgrade is still pending.
Multilingualizer4.15.js
We added the ability to use a second, shorter, marker block. Squarespace has limited the amount of characters for category names to 25 characters, so by changing the 4 dots to a single character before & after, you get 6 more characters available.
Other than that, you can create categories in each language and use our language-specific pages approach.
Multilingualizer4.16.js
We added a fix for a bug that was causing some ‘third or fourth sliders’ and/or some mobile menus on some themes and templates to not translate.
Multilingualizer4.17.js
Burger menus were not appearing properly on tablets. This has been fixed.

I was given 4.13, even though I purchased yesterday. Is that intended?
On SquareSpace Brine mobile:
4.13: mobile menu does not translate
4.16: mobile menu translates
4.17: mobile menu does not translate
What changed in 4.17? Can they be tweaked, so mobile menus translate *and* burger menus appear properly?

Please upgrade to 4.19.js – it includes all fixes and is tested on multiple sites. This version is now available if you generate code from your my-account page.

I just purchased Multilingualizer to use it with Wix, only to find out that you’ve withdrawn support for Wix. What does that mean?

Hi – sorry – it was temporary – I’ll update the article. There were a few themes proving very problematic, but I figured out a way to make language-specific pages work perfectly.
There are still some issues with some Wix themes not redrawing boxes to the correct sizes when using on-page translation, but it’s theme specific.
So – Wix support is still on – chat to us through the speech bubble and we’ll help you with anything you need.

Hi, I’ve tried chatting but no one’s replied. On my wix site (https://www.joannegriffith.com), when you toggle to change languages, you end up landing on a problematic URL: https://www.joannegriffith.comhttps//www.joannegriffith.com/accueil-fr. Any suggestions to fix this? Thanks in advance

Hi – sorry for slow support, yes – please upgrade your version to the latest version (log into your account and regenerate the code). There are a few releases since this bug existed.

I tried, but the “upgrade” hasn’t fixed the problem. I still get this: https://www.joannegriffith.comhttps//www.joannegriffith.com/accueil-fr when switching languages.
