Hi Tor,
Thank you for making the test page. From that page I can see that a script BEFORE the multilingualizer has not been ‘closed’ properly.
If you look you will see before the multilingualizer code something like this:
ga(‘send’, ‘pageview’);
(that’s your google analytics code)
But there is no closing </script> tag.
If you add </script> after the line above, the multilingualizer will then start working.
I’ve also updated your order to completed.
Hi Dave, Thank you! I’ve already begun introducing the texts for the English version and it works smoothly.
Hi Dave.
Both the Norwegian and the English text is shown for a few seconds when I acces our website or when I load any other page on our webpage. Could you check out what is the reason for it and how can we eliminate this issue? Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Kinga
Tor, Dave has been very busy last days with rolling out/working on fixes. I’ll make sure you get a solution as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
Hi Tor – bear with me – in the latest release I optimised the code to fix the lagging issue. Today I will fix this ‘2 languages being shown briefly’ issue so users do not see this.
Hello,
Perfect, Thanks a lot, Dave & Vas.
We are experiencing one more problem.The order of the languages in the code is:
var mllanguages = []; mllanguages[“English”] = 0; mllanguages[“Norwegian”] = 1; mllanguages[“Spanish / Castilian”] = 2; mllanguages[“Icelandic”] = 3;
This basically means that, if I am a Norwegian speaker (and my device’s settings and browser language settings are also using Norwegian as default language), then when I visit simp.no, I should see all the texts in Norwegian, and for any other language I would see the English version of our website, since we have only English and Norwegian for the moment.
I’ve made lots of tests and although we are in Norway and our device’s/browsers’ default language is Norwegian, the site loads in English. I tried to figure it out why this happens. In the Questions and Answers section I found this: https://www.multilingualizer.com/question/countrylanguage-detection/ . This explains why if I select English then I close the tab and reopen it, it will display English, because it overrides the browser language preferences, but I don’t understand why for someone who is visiting our site for the first time and has Norwegian as default language, the site is loading in English.
Did I misunderstood something? Please check out our website and let me know if I’m doing something wrong. We need this fixed as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Kinga
If your norwegian clients are seeing the website in English, it may have something to do with their browser settings. Additionally, if you wish these clients to see the text in Norwegian as a “first language” even if we cannot access the settings of their browsers for whatever reason, we implemented a new and useful feature which allows you to quickly solve this issue. Use the “?lang” parameter as described in our FAQ page. If you set it for Norwegian, it will make sure that the page is displayed in Norwegian for these people.
The ?lang parameter basically overrides the browser settings for people who are having issues, so if you use it it will make sure that norwegian people see the website in norwegian. Those who need to see it in English will see still it in English, provided you have provided them with some buttons/flags to change the language on your website, which I imagine you have.
Hi Dave & Vas,
It seems that the language recognition problem is solved. Thank you!
‘2 languages being shown briefly’ issue so users do not see this – Both the Norwegian and English text is still visible for a few seconds. Can you fix this, please?
Could you solve the loading issue as well? The loading time has been affected. Last time you wrote that a new release is on it’s way and it will fix the lagging issue. When can we expect it? We really need this fixed quickly. Thanks.
Hi Tor, the lagging and loading issue was resolved a few days ago when Dave released a fix. Can you please clear your browser’s cache fully and then restart the browser, then check if you’re still experiencing slow loading times/lag? Thanks.
Hi, Vas, I’ve did as you said, but unfortunally the lagging and loading issue is still there. Can you take a further look at it, pls.? Thanks,
Hi Tor, that’s rather strange – the lag and loading times were resolved for everyone else with the latest update. I’ll try and see what’s going on and get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
Thanks a lot.
Hi Vas, did you manage to check what’s the problem? I made some tests, I deleted the FB Pixel Code, cause I tought that maybe that could be the reason why our page is loading so slowly, but nothing changed. And we experience the ‘2 languages being shown briefly’ issue as well. Take a look at it please.
Yes Tor, apologies – I have been away for a while. I had a chat with Dave about the issue, and he said that there will be an additional fix very soon which will regard the problems of the few people who are still experiencing issues. In addition, the “2 languages being shown briefly” issue is also fixed in the next update, as Dave is aware of it and is currently working hard on solving it. Please bear with us a while longer.

Hello Vas. Thank you, I would really appreciate it.
