Hi there. Overall I'm really happy with Multilingualizer so far, except for one major issue. The homepage should be an index, with the first banner/content, then two more banners/content underneath it. Due to the code I've used for the translations, the two banners/pages under the first don't show up at all when I'm logged in or logged out. I've had to move those pages to a secondary nav for now so that the client can still check the translations. Can you let me know what I can do, as it's something that could be a deal breaker with using Multilingualizer. Have you had others complain about this too? Many thanks.

Could you provide a little bit more detail on what should be appearing? I’ve created a local copy of your homepage without Multilingualizer running, and I don’t see any content that isn’t showing up on the live site (bar the translations, of course)
Is it the case that you’ve removed the additional banners that you wanted to see? If so, it’s hard for me to observe and identify the issue.
One suggestion I could offer is that you use the four-dot boundaries in all places, rather than the short-hand method that omits these. This tends to be more reliable, as in site-builders like Squarespace, HTML mark-up isn’t always within the user’s direct control, and hence things can sometimes get out of synch.
Failing that, could you possibly set up a pag with the problematic layout, so that I can diagnose the problem?

Hi Sam. Thanks for coming back to me so quickly. I’ve now added the 2 pages which aren’t appearing to the homepage index again so that you can see what’s happening. I’ve logged in to your site and had a look around. Unless I’ve misunderstood what you’re trying to achieve, I think the problem here is with the Squarespace content set-up and not Multilingualizer. If Multilingualizer was causing a problem, then I would expect that the problem would go away when ML was turned off – I have tried this and the only difference I can observe is what I’d expect – all languages display rather than the selected one.
If you’re trying to have multiple banners and videos appear on a single page, (ie the home page), then I think you need to add those sections into the page itself, rather than as unlinked navigational sections underneath that page.
Does this make sense? Please let me know if I’ve misunderstood at all, and if so point to where you believe Multilingualizer is conflicting with what you are trying to achieve.

What I created is called an Index, which is native to Squarespace – we’ve used it on several other websites with no problems at all, such as http://calacus.com http://www.vincentreed.com/panelling https://www.shereenhobancoaching.com http://www.managemywebsite.com
You create the Index, drag pages into it, and they all appear as banners then content as you scroll down the page. Here’s how they work: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206543817-Using-the-Index-Page
Before I added Multilingualizer it all worked perfectly, and my client was able to see those sub pages on the homepage clearly to choose his banner images, make amends, and see how the homepage flowed.
But since I added it they’ve vanished and are only accessible by clicking on their direct links when logged out and not at all accessible when logged in.
Could this be anything to do with the way Multilingualizer is used, with the dots functionality of anything else? Have I mis-typed any code? If you could have another look I would really appreciate it.

Sorry to hear that you’re still having problems with this. Thanks for explaining what you meant by index / banner and so forth – I am by no means a Squarespace expert so this was helpful information.
I’m still quite sure that the cause of this problem is not Multilingualizer. While you might think that I would say that 😉 the reason is this – ML cannot affect anything on the Squarespace back end – it is a script that runs on the user’s browser, and there alone. Any problem that ML could cause must disappear when ML is turned off. The Index sections are not appearing on the front-end and on the back-end, regardless of whether ML is loaded or not.
My theory would be that something has become corrupted on your Squarespace site at around the same time as you added Multilingualizer. All that should have been added to your site’s content would be the …. / .. notations, which shouldn’t cause any problem, but your Vietnamese text does contain some unusual characters, and it is not impossible that odd characters can cause unexpected bugs on servers. (especially if you’ve cut and pasted text from a Word processor.)
When I try to look at the banner sections, I’m not seeing all of the content (videos, text etc) that seem to be showing when I look in the back-end, again pointing to a problem there.
Can you think of any other changes that may have been introduced before the index stopped working correctly? It might be worth throwing Squarespace support a query?
Hi Sam. I wanted to update you on this as I found the cause (or Squarespace did). It was a Feedwind news feed that affected the other pages in the index. I’ve now moved it to its own page at the bottom of the homepage (within the index) and all is fine now. Many thanks for all your help here. I appreciate it.
