Hi, I'm using the plugin for the first time and finding it really interesting, but also hitting my head with a few things. One of them is how to create a Homepage language specific... meaning that I would like to have SEO for both languages I'm using (Dutch and English)
I've duplicated a few pages (mains services pages) and made them page-specific, but the home page is translating the content within the same page. Is it possible to also have the home page duplicated and separate SEO descriptions?
Thank you.
Add 2 links to your menu – Home {en} and Home {nl} – the first can be / and the 2nd can be /nl/.
The language-specific pages system checks your navigation menus – header, footer, sidebar, and looks for pairs of links like this and will redirect the user according to the language they have selected and hide menu items they don’t need to see.
I think I follow these instructions properly, but it doesn’t really work with the switcher. I’ve added two homepages with titles and URLs as follow:
1. Dutch (first language): Home {nl} — clickforest.com
2. English (second language): Home {en} — clickforest.com/en/home
The website switcher doesn’t read the English page. Please check the live site: clickforest.com
Please advice!
Thank you.
Notice that I’ve also tried to add “/nl/home” to the Dutch home page (the main page) but it didn’t do anything different. I feel the plugin lacks clarity. Please let me know how to fix this.
