- Images not hiding when they're supposed to, titles that aren't appearing while others work perfectly (even though I did the exact same process).
- Portions of text that appear in the middle of text and are in the opposite language.
- Gallery pages losing their original spacing / gutter.
Hello Dave,
any updates on this? I had already sent Vas admin access to make it easier. I’m sorry for the pressure but I’m quite delayed on this.
Thank you for your help.
Hi Akna,
Firstly, please accept my apologies for the delay in getting these issues resolved.
I have gone through each page that you’ve linked to that was encountering issues and attempted to resolve them.
Could you take a look and confirm that the problems have been resolved?
By and large, the problems involving both languages getting displayed and titles disappearing seemed to have been a consequence of the slightly quirky way in which Squarespace was rendering the html markup. This can often happen with WYSIWYG editors, when superfluous and inconsistent markup can creep in and cause havoc generally.
The way to avoid this is to avoid adding formatting until the text is finalised, or to paste in text from a plain text editor rather than another html source, or Word, or whatever. There is also a ‘paste as plain text’ option in Squarespace, and you can also highlight a block and click the ‘remove formatting’ button to attempt to remove anything unwanted.
What was happening was that any such quirk seemed to be having a knock-on effect and causing Multilingualizer to lose track of the nodes to switch, and causing things like titles and whole blocks to disappear.
I’ve gone through the pages you listed and made edits to fix these problems.
Generally the most reliable technique would be to have the ‘….’ boundaries on their own line, and the ‘..’ separators with a paragraph, so one paragraph would look like:
….
This is some English text. .. Este es un texto en español
….
The other issue with the image replacement was down to your use of ‘[spanish]’ rather than the defined ‘[spanish / castilian]’ in the caption.
Please let me know if these issues are resolved for you now, and whether you have any questions.
Hello Sam,
I’ve been checking and these problems are solved 🙂
I still have one question, of something I noticed not working after the Multilingualizer code injection (If I take it out it works):
the titles in the slideshow galleries. They don’t appear now, and also I’m not sure how can I hide a complete slideshow according to the language.
Will be sending this details though email so you can see better.
Thank you very much for your help!
Sam will look into this for you shortly, as per the conversation via GMAIL. I will keep you posted and let you know when everything works as it should.
Hello Akna!
As I wrote in the email I sent you, your issue should be completely resolved now.
Deepest apologies for the time it took.
Please do not hesitate to contact us again with any further issues.
Kind regards!
Hello Vas,
the hide / show feature according to the language is working now!
The thing is that I wouldn’t like to show the [english] or [spanish / castilian] on the live website.
It doesn’t hide as happens in the other images.
Thank you,
Akna

Hey Akna. This is most likely a problem with the installation/configuration. Most likely a problem with incorrectly placed dots. Can you please provide wp-admin access to the backend of those issues, or in case you do not want that – provide sreenshots? You can’t upload screenshots here, so please send them to my personal email. [email protected] .
Hello, I sent you the info though email. Did you receive it?
Hi – I’m looking into this for you – sorry about the delay
